Omgsh, can you believe it June already?! I just sent out the invites for Jacob's birthday party today, YAY! My little man is going to turn FIVE!!! The time sure has gone by fast and before I know it, it'll be his first day of school. My oh my. So this year he decided on a skateboard theme, it was a tough one to find decent looking decorations but by golly, I think I got it! Can't wait and I'm sure he can't either. Now... What to get him... If you have any ideas, please pass them on.

It will be a fun and busy month as always with the end of school for the kids, people visiting from FL, all the summer activities starting up, garage sale, wedding, and of course my son's birthday! Hopefully everything goes well so wish me luck and I'll keep you posted. =)

Memorial Day Weekend

It was just a beautiful yet busy weekend with the new routine of working out, parties for graduation, birthday and Memorial Day and of course spending time with the family!! I will start with Saturday morning at 7:15 a.m. to be exact, I tried CycleFit a.k.a Spinning for the first time ever and boy did it kick my butt. I hope to one day master it enough so I do not have to cheat, haha, I said it! I could not stay up and off the saddle for very long... It was definitely a work out and I can wait to try it again and yes I will go that early. I felt so awake when I left the class, then later on I had a 2-hour yoga class, it was yin yoga where it focuses on 5-minute intervals of holding the positions. The point is you're supposed to be more relaxed yet in tune with your body. I, however had to use the bolsters to help hold me up as I was not as flexible as the others. I almost chickened out and not go, but I'm so glad I did. I thought maybe it would help me stretch more after CycleFit. And it did, I was and still am so sore from that morning. All part of getting fit, right?

My friend just graduated college and held a party at the Fort Wayne Hip Hop dance studio, if you have not been there you should definitely check it out. I love watching the break dancing, popping and locking it's just amazing!! I think he had a pretty good turn out and am sure he had a great time. Congrats Tan!! ;o)

Then onward with the rest of the weekend which lead to a birthday party at the lake, so peaceful, so relaxing, the grass is absolutely beautiful! Alex turned 4, such a big boy! These kids just grow up so fast... I'm so glad I get to be there to see it all happen though. Let me tell you, the boat ride was pretty exciting too. There were 2 boats taken out a pontoon and a bass fishing boat, there were 5 of us on the fishing boat or as the kids would say, the "fast" boat. Waters were a little rough due to the busy holiday weekend so it was a bumpy ride at times. The kids seem to enjoy the one BIG bump off the seat haha also the retrieval of Jacob's hat. C'mon, I wasn't thinking when I put one on him. Luckily we were able to get it before it sunk. I wonder how many hats and other treasures are at the bottom of the lake, hmmm... Then we had an incident where my brother Justin lost part of the oar kayaking so we had to send out the rescue team to tow him back it, it was quite eventful and a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to ALEX!!

Memorial Day Party at lil Ly's (my mini-me), our motto? Double Ly, Double Fun!! Delicious Asian cuisine, with my favorite food... Pho! Vietnamese noodle soup, YUM!! Everyone has to try it at least once in their lifetime. And spring roll, second best! Well, I just love Vietnamese food. After stuffing face we move on to karaoke, billiards and chit-chatting. btw, did I tell you Jacob is picking up a little bit of billiards. This boy is obsessed with it, he's just a bit vertically challenged, he is the next pool shark-in-training!!

Overall, the weekend was pretty busy but very enjoyable AND great weather... can't wait for more fun weekends to come. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and don't forget your loved ones.

Jacob's First Goal!!

Well, sorry my post is a day late haha. But this has to be said... I am so proud of Jacob. He had soccer yesterday through the Fort Wayne Sports Club. This is his third game for the spring season and he is doing so much better than the first one. But before I can tell you about this game I have tell you about the first one... During the first game he was in his own little world, while the other kids were flocking towards the ball he was chasing his own shadow and watching to see if it's still there. It was hilarious!! He had this grin on his face like he was having the time of his life. So I'm not going to complain... The second game was better, a little more focused, more prepared since now he knows what to expect and did wonderful he had an assist during the game. Now that's improvement, even though he was still chasing his shadow for part of the game at least he was a little more alert. =)

Now we get to the third and most recent game... So much better, this is a completely different Jacob! I don't know what happened but he definitely showed a lot more improvement in this game. He was a go-getter and was determined to get the ball. He used his superhero talents (Flash) and dashed as fast as he could to the ball. Full speed ahead for the ball and then out of no where he turns to look at his shadow. What? Back to that shadow again? I guess he had to see if it was still there. Well, because he did that he was no longer watching where he was going and he ran straight into two other kids who were already at the ball. Minor crash and luckily no one got hurt. =) The game continues and he's refocused, all the kids on the field are trying to get the ball and Jacob finally gets it and what happens? He goes the wrong direction. What a silly boy! The opponent got the ball back from him shortly after and the game continues... Now we get to the good stuff, towards the end of the game, Jacob gets the ball again and is going the right way now and then he kicks the ball towards the goal and it's rolling slowly, and it's still rolling and finally... HE SCORES!!!!! Oh my goodness it was intense! My son scored a goal, his first goal ever!!! We jump for joy, YAY! Jacob. Now do you see why I had to dedicate this post to him? My son, Jacob, is an amazing boy and I am so proud of him. I mean seriously, how could you now? =P Have a wonderful day, it's so beautiful out!!

Y.M.C.A.

So... Since I'm not quite sure what I want my blogsite to be about at this time, I will blog about what is going on with my life. I finally signed up for a membership to the YMCA yesterday. I can't wait, it'll be such a great environment for my family AND they have childcare while I workout, such a difficult task for a single mother. I've been wanting to forever and I finally did it! I was so pumped to get it, I thought I would challenge myself on the way there, afterall I do live fairly close to it so I decided it would be fun to take my son and brother via bike, my son was in the bike trailer (of course) and oh my goodness, I did not realize it was so hilly. I mean there aren't any HUGE hills but just enough for a good workout, actually too good of a workout for someone who is as out-of-shape as I am! It was a struggle there, I bet if people were walking they would be making circles around us because we were going so slow. However, it was such a great feeling, I actually felt more energized when I was done than when I started. I will not give up, so wish me luck!

P.S. Did I tell you I'm SO EXCITED!?!
